Born of a fascination with terrestrial radio, an appreciation for diesel-era design sensibility and a long-term romance with copper, this piece represents an occasional compulsion in me to make apparatus of the utilitarian kind.
Stout and cartoony in form, clean and forthright in function, this is an FM radio that I have treated more as mechanism than appliance, with the intent of combining materials, form, and sound into a domestic article of pleasurable machinery.
